Shared hosting, VPS and dedicated servers
An advertised maximum speed or plan name is not enough to compare shared hosting, VPS and dedicated servers. Access technology, resources, isolation, routing, peering/transit, address policy and support all matter. Two services with similar headline specifications can behave differently under load.
What to compare before choosing
Define the real workload: calls, gaming, inbound services, APIs, websites or storage. For an ISP compare evening throughput, latency, CGNAT/public IP and routes; for hosting compare resources, isolation, backup and management responsibility; for routing look at the ASN and actual path.
The detail that matters
Shared hosting places many customers behind a managed platform; a VPS provides stronger virtual resource boundaries and more administration; a dedicated server assigns physical hardware to one customer. Managed responsibility, backups, storage and network limits still vary by provider. For the comparison described above, open 2ip hosting lookup.
